Used Kia Engines for Sale 100% Tested OEM Kia Parts

September 28, 2026 • Used OEM Engines

A failed engine in a Sorento or Optima doesn't have to mean a new car payment. A used OEM Kia engine, matched to your VIN and tested before it ships, gets the car back on the road for a fraction of the dealer price.

Every long block we supply carries a 12-month warranty and free nationwide shipping. Before you order one, though, read the next section. It could save you the cost of the engine entirely.

Check This Before You Buy a Kia Engine

Certain Kia engines are covered by a class-action settlement over connecting rod bearing failure. If your car qualifies, Kia may repair or replace the engine under a 15-year / 150,000-mile warranty measured from the original retail delivery date, not from when you bought the car.

These are the covered combinations:

Eligibility depends on your VIN and repair history, and other Kia engines have been subject to separate recalls.

We would rather you get a free engine from Kia than buy one from us.

Which Engine Does Your Kia Have?

If the settlement doesn't cover you, the next step is identifying your engine. Kia shares engine families across models and changed them mid-generation.

Two Sorentos from the same year can carry a four-cylinder or a V6. Your VIN settles it, which is why we ask for it first.

What's Included With a Used Kia Engine?

You receive a long block: engine block, cylinder head and internal components.

Your alternator, air conditioning compressor and wiring harness transfer over from the old engine, so keep them.

Each engine is compression and oil-pressure tested and checked for internal wear before it leaves. You get the test results and pre-shipping photos.

How to Order the Right Engine

Have this ready when you call or fill in the quote form:

  1. Your VIN, the 17-character number at the base of the windshield or in the driver's door jamb.
  2. Year, model and trim, since trim often decides which engine was fitted.
  3. Drivetrain, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
  4. Why the old engine failed, if the shop told you.

That last question matters on Kia four-cylinders. Engines that ran low on oil or overheated often damaged other parts on the way out, and fitting a sound engine into a car with an unresolved cooling or oil supply problem repeats the failure.

Kia Engine Installation Tips

Pass these to your mechanic:

Professional installation is strongly recommended, and our warranty assumes it.

Warranty and Shipping

Every long block includes a 12-month warranty covering internal mechanical failure under normal use, with extended coverage available on many years and models. It excludes labor, accessories that didn't come with the engine, and damage caused by improper installation.

Shipping is free to the lower 48 states. Most engines leave within 3 to 4 business days of order confirmation and arrive within 5 to 7, by freight on a pallet, with tracking by email and text. Full terms are on our shipping and returns page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your Kia engines genuine OEM?

Yes. They're factory-built units removed from low-mileage donor vehicles, not rebuilt aftermarket assemblies.

My model isn't listed. Can you still find the engine?

Yes. Much of our inventory never reaches the website. Contact us with your VIN and we'll search our supplier network.

Should I buy used or wait for a warranty claim?

If your VIN is covered by the settlement, pursue the claim first. A free engine from Kia beats any price we can offer. We'll help either way.
